Alumni Relations

Letter from the Executive Director

Dear KU alumni,

Alex Ogeka, Director of Development & Alumni Relations

I am honored to serve as the Executive Director for the Kutztown University Foundation.  I have spent almost 9 years at Kutztown University, working first at the university as an advancement officer for Athletics and then for the foundation as Director of Major Gifts.  Since 2011, I have been working with you, the Alumni Association Board of Directors, and the university to improve the KU alumni experience.

The KU alumni community is now more than 76,000 strong and adding to that number each year.  Our alumni community spans generations, but all of us share in a love for Kutztown University.  It is this lifelong relationship with the university that the Board of Directors and staff are dedicated to nurturing and enhancing.

To that end, this past spring we completed a strategic roadmap with the help of Grenzbach Glier and Associates (GG&A) in order to set forth specific next steps for the Alumni Association and for Alumni Relations.  In the coming months and years, our office will be working to improve the overall Alumni Relations program, the mission and management of the Alumni Association Board of Directors, our outreach to KU students and young alumni, career services for alumni, and programming for our KU affinity groups.  Above all else, we want each of you to know that, through the Wiesenberger Alumni Center and its programs, you have a dedicated place on campus and a point of connection with KU.

I'd like to invite you to explore the newly redesigned Alumni Relations website by using the links in the left sidebar.  There is a great deal of useful information on the website, and we provide many opportunities for alumni to become involved with the university: you can build an alumni profile by clicking on the link for My Golden Bear Profile, which will allow you to add your information to the new online Alumni Directory; you can read about remarkable KU alumni in the Alumni in the News section; and you can submit your own accomplishments and proud achievements through the Class Notes section.  Please be sure to look at the list of upcoming Alumni Networking Series events as well, since those are great opportunities to network with other KU alumni and learn more about what's happening on campus.

In closing, I want to mention again how pleased I am to serve as the Executive Director.  Please do not hesitate to contact me at ogeka@kutztownUfoundation.org with your ideas and suggestions.  I look forward to seeing you on campus.

All good wishes to you and the entire KU alumni community,

Executive Director
